Do more

«We’ve all been given a gift, the gift of life. What we do with our lives is our gift back.» -Edo

I am under the sneaky impression that most of us who own small or medium businesses (self employed or with employees), could also do a good deed of our own!

For example, I do voice overs for a living, and I am self-employed. Aside from donating and volunteering, I offer my services on the house, a few times a year to my favorite non profits.

Maybe you can afford to help your favorite organizations too?

In the end, many of us have more than enough to be happy. So sharing our resources is good common sense.

Here is the letter I wrote my favorite organizations (click on it to access it):

Letter to non-profit/charity of your choice

Her are some organizations I like, what are yours? (Our mission is to strengthen the civic and cultural bonds that unite Southern California’s diverse communities by providing the highest quality news and information service through radio and other interactive media.) (Check your cosmetics and bathroom products to see how carcinogenic they are and what to replace them with.) (YES! Magazine reframes the biggest problems of our time in terms of their solutions.  They outline a path forward with in-depth analysis, tools for citizen engagement, and stories about real people working for a better world.) (For almost 100 years, the ACLU has worked to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States.) (Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide) (Public Citizen serves as the people’s voice in the nation’s capital. Since our founding in 1971, we have delved into an array of areas, but our work on each issue shares an overarching goal: To ensure that all citizens are represented in the halls of power.) (We bring together conservatives, progressives, and everyone in between to pass powerful anti-corruption laws that stop political bribery, end secret money, and fix our broken elections.) (MENTOR’s mission is to fuel the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships for America’s young people and to close the mentoring gap for the one in three young people growing up without this critical support.) (Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children realize their potential and build their futures. We nurture children and strengthen communities. And we couldn’t do any of it without you.) (Black Lives Matter is an ideological and political intervention in a world where Black lives are systematically and intentionally targeted for demise.  It is an affirmation of Black folks’ contributions to this society, our humanity, and our resilience in the face of deadly oppression.)
